This class offers practical information on how to raise bilingual/multilingual children. We will dispel common myths of bilingualism, discuss research-based methods for how to raise bilingual children, and address common questions and concerns. Learn the best ways to support your child’s bilingual language development so that your child can reap all the wonderful benefits of being multilingual.  This introductory class is geared towards expectant parents and those with babies or toddlers under age 4.

Ilana Shydlo

Ilana Shydlo, MS, CCC-SLP, TSSLD-BEA​ is a lover of languages, a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, and holds a teacher certification with bilingual extensions in Russian, Spanish, and French. She has worked as a speech therapist in New York City public, private, and charter schools. She is the founder of Polyglot Parenting and is a bilingual parent herself.With a warm, caring, highly individualized approach, she works with families from a wide variety of backgrounds, including children with special needs. In her capacity as a Bilingual Parenting Consultant, she acts as a resource and expert guide for families as they navigate effectively raising children to speak more than one language.
