Girasol Second Quality Wraps and Ring Slings

These second-quality Girasol Wraps contain flaws that we consider to be outside the realm of normal. This usually means that they have a very small series of broken threads, but they may also contain other abnormalities that will not effect the safety of your wrap. If there is a series of broken threads that are next to each other, they may occasionally constitute a tiny hole in these wraps. We will only list wraps for sale if we consider the nature/size of the hole or broken threads not to impose a safety concern. With this said, we cannot control what will happen to wrap once stress is placed on it, and we advise that the owner must still monitor the abnormal area intermittently to be sure the hole is not expanding over time.

Should you wish to repair the flaw, broken threads can be fixed by being woven back into the fabric by hand, tied in a knot, or repaired using a graft thread. Here is a tutorial to help guide you. If you are not crafty of course, you may consult a seamstress!

Note: All Girasol Second Quality Products are FINAL SALE

Because of their discount and nature, second quality wraps are not eligible for return and Wild Was Mama, nor is Wild Was Mama liable for any associated repair of or problems with future use of the carrier. For this reason, we encourage you to reach out to us before purchasing a second-quality wrap to make sure that you are comfortable with it! Let know what specific wrap you are considering, so we can get you the exact detail and photos where necessary.

In addition to second-quality wraps, we also have a selection of "discounted special" wraps which have no flaws in their weaving, but whose middle marker is more than 12 inches off-center.

Product Information

Girasol Baby Wraps have a soft, blankety feel that breaks in easily. These carriers are considered a medium-weight that can carry a baby up to 35 pounds, depending on how the wrap is tied. But it’s the way the wrap feels that will bond you forever — it’s a breeze to walk long distances with baby tied snugly in one of these wraps. Girasol wraps have a strong following with the babywearing crew, but we’ve also seen how newbies quickly learn to tie these wraps and become confident in their babywearing skills. With a little practice, you will find this carrier to always be a perfect fit, distributing your baby’s weight evenly and comfortably.

  • Fabric ends are tapered and hems finished.

100% Cotton is never bleached. Dyeing and finishing processes use no chemical finishes, formaldehyde, halogen-organic compounds, aromatic amines or brighteners. Wraps are easy to care for and may be washed in hot water, tumble or line-dried.

A Note on Handwoven Fabrics

Girasol wraps are handwoven on traditional looms in Guatemala. Due to the highly-specialized hand-weaving technique, it is common for Girasols to have small irregularities in their fabric, such as small weavers knots, occasional skipped threads in the design, or slightly loose pieces of yarn called "pulls." These cosmetic variances make each wrap one-of-a-kind and have no effect on the safety or quality of the carrier. Small tags, which are sewn into the center of the wrap to mark the middle of the fabric for ease of use, may vary in placement from the exact center by approximately 12 inches. If you have any questions or concerns about these details, or wish for more clarification on a wrap you are considering or have purchased, please contact us so we may further assist you. If you order a Girasol from our online shop, it is with the assumption that you understand and accept the nature of these handwoven wraps.
